The book focuses on the systematic interpretation of the articles of Law No. 4251/2014 governing investments in financial securities or bank deposits for the purpose of obtaining a residence permit in Greece. At the same time, these investments are matched with those in real estate, as well as with other investment activities, which lead to the granting of such a permit, while, in addition, the procedure for issuing entry visas and residence permits is also analyzed. In this sense, the subject of the project is the granting of a residence permit in Greece in general, due to any of the investments provided for this purpose. To this end, an interpretative approach to the individual rules is attempted, as they are specified in the ministerial decisions issued in each case.
The primary aim of the project is to enlighten the implementer of the relevant provisions, in the -many- places where their wording causes interpretative issues. However, such a practical approach also highlights the evaluation of the law, especially with regard to the possibility of achieving the objectives it tends to serve, and highlights solutions that would lead to the improvement of the current regime.
